River City staff may refuse any items and any individuals, such as non-Omaha residents or commercial haulers. Note that regular size car load is typically one voucher and no additional fee (loads less than 2 cubic yards). You'll need a truck or a van, and you do the loading.
Haul it to Omaha Fall Cleanup
The annual free event provides Omaha residents with the opportunity to recycle or dispose of large or bulky items that are not accepted through curbside waste services (such as old furniture, appliances, and mattresses). Open Each Saturday, multiple neighborhoods in a specific section of the city will accept items for disposal and recycling between 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM. Limit: Fall Cleanup is open to all City of Omaha households. Furniture (couches, chairs, mattresses, etc.). The 2026 Fall Cleanup will take place on four Saturdays of October (10/3, 10/10, 10/17, 10/24). Note that residents must unload their own vehicle, no assistance will be provided.
