What is a bed bridge? How do I install my bed bridge? How much do bed bridges cost? Where can I purchase a bed bridge? All of these answers and more are addressed in this post. Our goal is to help you understand the function of a bed bridge and how to utilize it effectively to gain more sleeping space.

What is a bed bridge?

A bed bridge is a piece of foam that is used to connect two mattresses, making them into one large mattress. The bed bridge fills the gap in-between the two mattresses so that the sleeper does not end up falling into the crack in the middle of the beds. Most commonly, people use a bed bridge to make two twin mattresses into a king size mattress. When installed and utilized correctly, a bed bridge can be a great affordable option for getting a large sleeping space without spending the $1000+ dollars on a king size mattress.

If you are looking at purchasing a bed bridge, chances are you are doing so because you need more sleeping space. While bed bridges work to couple mattresses of any size, they are most commonly used to pair two twin mattresses together in order to make a “make-shift” king size mattress. Please note; if you choose to pair 2 standard size twins together they will be the same width as a king size mattress but will be about 6″ shorter. If you pair 2 Twin XL mattresses they will equal one king size mattress. A king size mattress is best if you plan to sleep on it for the lifetime of the mattress. If you plan to push two mattresses together temporarily or on occasion then a bed bridge would be a perfect option. A bed bridge won’t feel exactly the same as a single king mattress but it does a great job at giving a very similar seamless connection.

How much do bed bridges cost?

Bed bridges cost anywhere from $30-$50 depending on which one you choose. They are a somewhat simple contraption and don’t consist of a lot of parts.
