Mattress removal in Charlotte, NC

Booking takes about a minute. Pick your items and a pickup day, put the mattress out that morning, and we'll load it and take it away. Most of our Charlotte pickups are curbside, so there's nothing to wrap and no trip to make.

From there it goes to our local recycling facility, where our team takes it apart by hand. The foam gets baled for carpet padding, the steel springs go to scrap processors, and box-spring wood gets chipped. Here's the whole process if you want to see it.

Charlotte and North Carolina mattress disposal rules

Booking with us? You can skip this part. Everything below is for handling it yourself — Charlotte's rules, the fees and the drop-off options. If we're doing the pickup, the regulations and the recycling are ours to deal with: you leave it at the curb and we take it from there.

  1. What Charlotte asks for if you use city pickup

These are City of Charlotte Solid Waste Services' requirements, not ours — they apply if you're putting the mattress out for the city rather than booking a pickup with us.

    • To be eligible for this service, you must currently receive garbage collection from the City of Charlotte.
    • Place bulky items at the curb no later than 6 a.m. on your scheduled collection day and no sooner than the day before collection.
    • Where to put it: there should be 3 feet in between items.
    • Items placed at the curb without scheduling will not be collected.
    • Items such as household furnishings, appliances, mattresses, box springs, lawn equipment and similar items too large to be placed in the garbage rollout cart and not eligible for recycling or yard waste collection are considered bulky waste and must be scheduled for collection. are on the accepted list, so the mattress itself is not the problem — the booking is.
