Mattress removal in Kansas City, MO

Booking takes about a minute. Pick your items and a pickup day, put the mattress out that morning, and we'll load it and take it away. Most of our Kansas City pickups are curbside, so there's nothing to wrap and no trip to make.

From there it goes to our local recycling facility, where our team takes it apart by hand. The foam gets baled for carpet padding, the steel springs go to scrap processors, and box-spring wood gets chipped. Here's the whole process if you want to see it.

How it works

  1. Book online.

Pick your items and a pickup day. Takes about a minute, and you see the price before you confirm.

  2. Put it at the curb.

  3. We arrive.

Our team shows up in your window and texts you when they're about thirty minutes out.

  4. We recycle it.

Your mattress goes to our local recycling facility and gets taken apart by hand. You'll get a confirmation once it's done.

Kansas City and Missouri mattress disposal rules

Booking with us? You can skip this part. Everything below is for handling it yourself — Kansas City's rules, the fees and the drop-off options. If we're doing the pickup, the regulations and the recycling are ours to deal with: you leave it at the curb and we take it from there.

  1. What Kansas City asks for if you use city pickup

These are City of Kansas City's requirements, not ours — they apply if you're putting the mattress out for the city rather than booking a pickup with us.

    • When scheduling your pickup, list every item you plan to set out—items not listed will not be collected.
    • Place items within 3 feet of the curb by 7 A.M. on your collection day. Do not put items out before 3 P.M. the day before your appointment.
    • Where to put it: place your bulky items at least 4 ft from trash carts and recycling carts.
    • Each appointment allows a maximum of 15 items and weigh less than 500 lbs (227 kg).
    • You must schedule an appointment before placing items at the curb.
    • Includes: Couches, tables, chairs, TVs, beds, mattresses, metal furniture, cabinets, bathroom fixtures, rugs, carpet. are on the accepted list, so the mattress itself is not the problem — the booking is.
    • On what they won't take at the curb: Bulky Pickup is only for residential homes (not businesses).

You can. Courtney Ridge Landfill in Sugar Creek takes mattresses — mattresses | Box Springs – Old | Broken | Soiled | Smelly. They don't publish a price for a single mattress, so call ahead before you load up. Either way you need a truck and the drive out to Sugar Creek, and a pickup from us is $89 and comes to you.
